Man, this list is dead, dead, dead! What happened to all of the flame
wars, multiple personalities, and endless debates about PFX counts?
On some level I guess it's a good thing. People are just enjoying
boxing and not getting all wrapped up in turf wars. However those
turf wars certainly infused this site with some spirit.
So in the spirit of the old ways here's a thread to get you going:
KILL THIS SITE! Very few people seem to post, the information posted
here could easily transfer to any of the myriad other sites, and
clearly Randy wants a break from monitoring this dreck.

I don't think that people like being put into their intellectual places by our fearless leader. The scolding can't help. I don't think the never ending whining about who's feelings got hurt by whatever was said helps either.
So, I've been looking at some of the clues coming out lately.....LAME LAME LAME.
"So, I have to turn LEFT at the spotted rock. Thanks for spoon feeding me. I love living in this box, I just wish I could get out sometimes. Maybe I'll try again next week."
DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THE OLD SCHOOL DAYS OF THIS HOBBY?
I'M TALKING BEFORE THE BOY AND GIRL SCOUT AROUND THE CAMPFIRE NONSENSE.
ANYONE REMEMBER WHEN THINGS WERE SECRETIVE?
IT SUCKS NOW AND THAT'S WHY NO ONE HEARS FROM THE PEOPLE WHO USED TO MAKE IT FUN.
BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT WHO THEY OFFENDED.
THEY DON'T CARE AND REALLY DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE CRYING AND/OR DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING BANNED BY BIG BROTHER...OR WHATEVER.
ONCE PEOPLE STOP WHINING AND CRYING WE'LL BE ABLE TO MAKE IT LIKE IT WAS.
ANYTHING SHORT OF THAT....FORGET IT...IT'LL CONTINUE TO SUCK.
I know someone needs a hanky right now so I'll stop.

We know what you mean. We've only been boxing for just under 5 years, but
remember the "old days" of 2003, etc. Perhaps this list can ignore the
"dumbing down" and continue on with an attitude of adventure & stealth for
adults. Can someone declare an "alumni week" or something to entice some of
the veterans back?

That is a great idea. Who's got the time to organize it? I wish I did, but I don't. Where would it take place? The old schoolers are scattered throughout the U.S. It would be great to see some of the founding fathers/mothers (see funhog, I didn't leave you out) and the people who have continued to carry the torch. I wonder if it could be done? I know there'd be a few people interested. Hmmmmm....a great idea indeed.

I left the "Big List" over two years ago because of all the traffic (mostly useless drivel and
unsolicited opinions). I came back on a lark and was amazed at the lack of traffic. I just assumed
like me, most are more active on the regional lists.

I always considered the Mystery Gathering to be the gathering of
alumni. Who can forget the revealing of legerdemaine's stamp, the
surprise visits by far-away Funhog, Springchick, Azobox and Amanda
(to name a few), the fun-behind-the-scenes mischief, the friends, the
food, the atmosphere, the monks (!)?
Buiild it and they will come!

They've probably moved over to the Atlas Quest boards where posts have increased almost exponentially since 2004:
2004 -- 1,506
2005 -- 11,637
2006 -- 44,212
2007 -- 105,379

So many regional chatlists, multitudes of 'named' boards at AQ, and
the newboxers chatlist has created IDD.
Some may think that it is to the detriment of this chatlist, but on
the other hand it might be beneficial.
